I’ve always been drawn to both medicine and a deeper understanding of the human experience. In college, I studied both science and Eastern philosophy—two disciplines that, at the time, felt worlds apart. I later realized they were quietly laying the foundation for what would become my life’s work in Chinese medicine.
 

A pivotal moment came in 1990 while I was touring Japan as a professional figure skater. I met an acupuncturist whose approach illuminated the powerful intersection of science, healing, and philosophy. That encounter inspired me to pursue formal training at the International College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Vancouver, where I graduated in 1997. I later completed clinical internships in Shanghai and Hefei, China, which further deepened my understanding of classical Chinese medicine.
 

Over the past 29 years, I’ve practiced in a wide range of clinical settings—from private practice to multidisciplinary teams alongside MDs, physiotherapists, and psychologists.These diverse experiences have continually shaped my holistic, patient-centered approach to care.

I am licensed in both Oregon and British Columbia and specialize in acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine. In addition to clinical work, I am a mentor and teaching assistant for the Graduate Mentorship Program in Herbal Medicine and Diagnosis through the White Pine Institute in Amherst, MA. I also teach herbal medicine within the White Pine Circle, an online community for Chinese medicine continuing education.
 

My clinical focus is on uncovering the root causes of illness. I help patients understand how even seemingly unrelated symptoms often reflect an interconnected pattern. As the classical text Shang Han Lun states: “No symptom is isolated; the body operates as a whole. Each patient is a unique world;
treatments must be tailored to their specific constitution and condition.”
 

Outside the clinic, you’ll find me hiking, figure skating, or exploring the world—continually inspired by movement, culture, and the healing wisdom that transcends borders.
